First Listen: TATTOO (feat + Prod. YONNAS) -Kid Astronaut

We have new music courtesy of one of our faves Kid Astronaut. This time he gets an assist from YONNAS, longtime Denver musician an producer. You may remember him from the legendary BLKHRTS back in the day. The song is a sultry number that shows Kid Astronaut poor his heart out for the one that got away. The listener can feel the pain as he confesses his vulnerabilities through his words. Infectious, yes. Catchy, absolutely. We digging it, well played Kid.

I’ve been a fan of @mynameisyonnas since coming up in the city back in the Air Dubai days. Yonnas was one of the first artists I got to see and learn from so to now grow into this opportunity to work with one of my inspirations is not only amazing for my younger self but also a testament to the work and time I’ve been putting in. Grateful.

TATTOO is now streaming on all music platforms. Every like, share and stream is important. Go run us up!!

Bailey Elora Releases Her Newest Single "DRUNK RN" ft Broth3r

We love discovering new talent among the bustling music here in Denver, a few years ago we came across this gem of an up and coming star Bailey Elora. With a voice that carries over and reminds us of stars such as Billie Eilish and a young Gwen Stefani, the 21 year old singer-songwriter just released her newest single. DRUNK RN which was written during the pandemic and features local rapper, Broth3r. It was recorded, mixed and mastered by Glenn Sawyer and Rich Veltrop at The Spot Studios in Evergreen, Colorado.

“I didn’t want to write just another depressing song about how shitty life felt at that moment. I wanted a song that expressed all the feelings and different coping mechanisms brought on by the pandemic in a fun light hearted way and I really think DRUNK RN does that”, said Bailey Elora.

Bailey Elora has come a long way, from singing covers to performing originals at various venues throughout Colorado. With new music, Bailey Elora and her band (Alfredo “Freddy” Zamora, Isaac Zamora, Geoff Orwiler, and James Romine) are ready to take on the music scene, wherever it takes them.

Andrew J. Elofson, Guitarist for Suitable Miss says, “Armed with a powerful voice, a fierce spirit and undeniable kindness, Bailey is showing the world why you should stop what you're doing and pay attention to her.”

Michael "Ill Se7en" Acuña, MC with Brass and Gold Society says that Bailey Elora is “A creative brilliant young artist pushing forward Denver's sound!!”

Chloe Tang Continues To Blaze Her Own Path With Her New Single "Sad About Me"

Rising from her Colorado roots, one of our favorite artist Chloe Tang is cementing her ground as an up-and-coming star now settled on the West Coast. We have been following Chloe’s career for awhile and she continues to shine with everything she puts out.

Rising pop songstress Chloe Tang has announced today’s premiere of a powerful new single. “Sad About Me“ is available now at all DSPs and streaming services along with a visualizer, streaming now on Chloe’s official YouTube channel.

“Sad About Me” marks the latest track release from Tang’s eagerly awaited new E-PITY-ME EP, due to arrive later this year. The EP was previously heralded by the irresistible first single, “Copycat,” available for streaming HERE; the LIXA-produced track is joined by an equally colorful official visualizer, streaming now at YouTube.

"I wrote this song during a time I was dealing with seasonal depression and other life things which made me question if my state of low was driven by my relationship,” says Tang. “The realization that my sadness wasn't actually about a boy made the song empowering in a twisted way, because I was able to embrace the unhappiness without feeling guilty about it."

With more than four million monthly listeners and over 4 million worldwide streams thus far, Chloe Tang is quickly proving a modern pop sensation. Blending raw lyricism, melodic hooks, and R&B-fueled beats, the Phoenix, AZ-born, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter has crafted what she describes as “music about real emotions and experiences – not what people think pop music should be'' on a string of increasingly acclaimed releases including such tracks as “Hype,” “Fanning The Flame,” and “Take Care,” the latter hailed by Atwood Magazine as “a feelgood embrace of love’s high highs…a catchy pop banger ready to soak up summer’s sweetness.” A proud Asian-American who pays homage to her Chinese heritage throughout her multifaceted artistry, Tang grew up immersed in music, training on the piano from the age of five before adding guitar (and saxophone) a few years later. She studied songwriting at the University of Colorado before embarking on what is shaping up to be a uniquely brilliant career, with highlights already including an unprecedented performance supporting Dua Lipa at a sold out Fillmore Auditorium in Denver. Now, with “Sad About Me'' and her impending E-PITY-ME EP, Chloe Tang is poised to ascend to even greater heights. Tang will celebrate with an eagerly anticipated series of creative live performances surrounding the EP’s release later this year – for updates, please visit www.chloetangmusic.com.

First Listen: "Heat Dish" Motion Trap x Reed Fox ft. Megan Crooks

Screen Shot 2019-05-23 at 11.55.16 AM.png

We have music for you courtesy of Motion Trap and Treed Fox ft. Megan Crooks. I know you are saying to yourself “i’ve seen these names before”, chances are you have they all dabble in several projects here in Denver. These individuals got together for this track and wanted to share a bit of the background on how it came to be.

Reed Fox:

Jeremy Averitt, Kevin Netz, Megan Crooks & I are in a band called Moon Hammer. I became obsessed with House music two years ago and started writing my first House track that developed into Heat Dish when Kevin, Jeremy, and I were hanging out. Megan and I have collaborated on a few dozen tracks and we scheduled a time for her to write lyrics and record vocals over it. She's one of my favorite people to collaborate with and she wrote and recorded the vocals in a couple of hours. It was the dead of winter and all we had to keep warm was a heat dish in Moon Magnet Studios at the time so we named the song after it.

Moon Hammer reimagines and performs Heat Dish live at shows. We're playing it on PBS Sounds on 29th this Saturday as well as the UMS and MCA later this summer.

Megan Crooks:

Sometimes beautiful things come together in the chaos of this world. I truly believe that the musical bond we share is cosmic!

When asked how the idea for this specific track came about Kyle of Motion Trap explained:

I’m pretty sure the idea first came up at Fort Greene in Denver during a Nothing Matters event. I remember running into Reed and we started talking about some new Decollage songs he was planning to release. He mentioned he was thinking about remixes on a couple of the tracks. Motion Trap has always loved their music so I jump at a chance to give my spin to it. I think I texted him the next morning asking for the files.

One trend we have noticed recently in the Denver music scene is the amount of collaborations that have recently popped up. Kyle mentions that collaborations are “definitely complimentary! It’s a lot of fun for me to work with other artists’ songs. It’s always fun to see how other people create and what their process is like. Reed is a fun dude to be around too!”

Crooks added, “I've noticed that trend as well! I think it is something that is happening naturally. We are experiencing so much change both in the music community, and in personal lives that things are shifting. But we're musicians, we can't just stop creating! I think as a whole people are banding together in new ways to embrace the shock of inevitable change- politically, in community, and personally! “
