CITRA Delivers Knockout On Latest Single Papercuts

Denver rock band CITRA is releasing their new single “Papercuts” on Friday, May 31st... the second of a fresh collection of songs the band plans to release as singles throughout 2024. 

“Papercuts” finds the band exploring themes of emotional pain, and the all-too-relatable struggle to cope with small, seemingly insignificant things that inevitably snowball uncontrollably.

Singer Bran Arndt explores the concepts of repressed memories and emotions while navigating trope’s of restless, nightmare-laden nights, and the fruitless endeavor of keeping it all hidden from the world.

Introspective, melancholy, but still uplifting, it is ultimately an acceptance of the vulnerability that comes with being human. 

The new song is the second release of the band’s collaboration with longtime staple of the Denver music scene, Producer/Engineer Tyler Imbrogno (Eldren, Izcalli, Augustus), and finds the foursome continuing their foray into a vast array of musical ideas that demonstrates the band’s ever-broadening capabilities as song-writers.

The song will be released in tandem with a music video, directed and produced by Seth Beamer (who has worked with Denver acts such as Flo Bots, Rob Drabkin, Pandas & People, and Elektric Animals). Says the band: “The song is serious enough, and we didn’t want to get too heavy with the video…we’re still a bunch of goofballs at heart, so the video is definitely a nice contrast. Hopefully it makes you giggle.”
