Ultraversary 7 Artist Spotlight: Sur Ellz

Khalil Arcady is a 23-year-old singer, songwriter, dancer and producer hailing from the city of Denver, CO. With a futuristic neo-soul appeal, he looks up to the ingenious minds of Pharrell, Timbaland, J Dilla, Maxwell, Prince, & Stevie Nicks. Telling relatable stories about modern struggle and human interaction through the different dimensions of audio soundscaping, Sur Ellz expresses raw emotion through the various realms of music and art. We have had the pleasure of working with Sur Ellz before if you remember our epic Ultraween party a few years ago.  Back home after his stint at SXSW, the talented Sur Ellz blesses us again for our Ultraversary, as you can tell we are big fans! Check him out this Saturday at Pearl's.

Ultraversary Artist Spotlight: Oko Tygra

Friday night we will be graced by the lovely Oko Tygra. The dream-wave pop outfit have long been favorites of of ours for awhile and we are excited to have them join us in the festivities this year. Hand selected by us, this show is sure to be stellar. Join us, tickets on sale now.

Denver's OKO TYGRA is the dark and dreamy creation of intrepid Songwriter, Joshua Novak. After suffering an accident that left him with a life threatening head injury, Novak realized something had to change. Thus, OKO TYGRA came out of the rubble drawing inspiration from their affection for Slowdive and Cocteau Twins. In 2015, they released their Glass Jaw/Plasticine 7" on EggHunt Records. With those recordings, they received media praise from the likes of Impose Magazine, My Old Kentucky Blog, IHEARTCOMIX as well as charting on numerous radio stations like KEXP in Seattle. They have played SXSW, UMS in Denver and were accepted into CMJ in New York in 2014 & 2015, making them the only band to represent Denver in the 2014 showcase.

Most recently, the band was signed with LA based label, GREY MARKET, and were accepted into Treefort Music Fest in Boise (March 22-26). They are currently working on a full length with producer, Jorge Elbrecht (Ariel Pink, Tamaryn, Violens).

Ultraversary 7 Artist Spotlight: South of France

Local talent duo, South of France is quickly making a name for themselves within Denver’s emerging indie-pop scene. Their dream pop undercurrents and sweet his and hers lyrics make for a familiar yet surprisingly fresh performance. The band was formed when intstrumentalist/producer/songwriter Jeff Cormack met singer/songwriter Kelly Lueke in Los Angeles back in 2012. Since then they’ve been able to share the stage with greats like Portugal. The Man and The Flaming Lips and as of this Saturday, local heroes Ultra5280!

South of France has been on our “Must See Acts at UMS” list for the past few years and it only made sense to ask them to be a part of our debut into the Colorado festival scene. (Coachella ain’t got nothing on our lineup – looking at you special guest DJ Tobias Krause).

South of France captures the art of the duet without the kitchiness that duos sometimes come with. Their melodies are dancey and rhythmic while their lyrics embody real emotion and experiences. We are honored to have them hail from our beloved town of Denver and even more honored to share the stage with them this weekend.

3 day wristbands are on sale now!

Ultraversary 7 Artist Spotlight: Yasi

Fresh off a EP that had us swooning, we are fortunate to have her performing for us during our three night celebration.
