Global Dance Festival Partners with Cadence & Cause to Fundraise for Youth on Record

Global Dance Festival is returning to Red Rocks once again, with three full nights of some of the best and brightest dance music artists the world has to offer. From global superstars to budding young talent, the lineup features acts like Above & Beyond, W&W, DJ Snake, Knife Party, and many more.

This year’s event comes with an added layer, one which benefits Youth on Record, a local charitable organization whose mission is to empower at-risk Denver youth through music education. Youth on Record’s programs allow teens to learn everything from how to use music production software, to playing instruments, and even how to record, mix, and master their own music.

“Global Dance Festival wouldn’t be here without the amazing artists that come each and every year. We’re excited to work with Youth on Record to help spread the love of music education to more and more kids.” - Global Dance Festival Team

Fundraising efforts are being powered by Cadence & Cause, a Denver-based company that connects events, musicians, and their fans to worthy charities. Currently, fans can give nominal contributions to enter for a chance to win exclusive experiences like three-day passes to the festival and backstage experiences with W&W and Tritonal.

These sweepstakes end on Thursday, July 7th, a day before the festival begins. The majority of the proceeds will go directly to Youth on Record to help fund their efforts.

Porter Robinson Anniversary Show Video

One of our favorite DJ's Porter Robinson recently returned to the venue in which he played his first show two years ago, I still remember seeing him at Global Dance Festival two years ago for the first time and was blown away.

Back in October, two years to the day from his very first DJ gig at Motiv in Santa Cruz, Porter Robinson threw a free party at the same venue. Fans were hand picked to attend the very special event which included Porter's good friend Zedd. He's come a long way from his humble beginnings, but still revels in the moments when he can do something truly memorable for his dedicated following. Check out the video below to see the pandemonium, feel the intensity and get  closer to Porter and a couple hundred of his closest friends.

Global Dance Festival 2013 | July 19-21 | Red Rocks Amphitheater

With Denver hosting one of the year's biggest music weekends Global Dance Festival will invade the majestic Red Rocks Amphitheater. Fans will get to enjoy a some of EDM's biggest and brightest.

We are thrilled to announce that Sunday, July 21st of Global Dance Festival will feature both solo sets from Griz and Gramatik, PLUS a rare collaborative set from Grizmatik. One of the most exciting artist collaborations of the past year, these giants of funk have united their soulful yet bass-laden unique styles for one infectious sound that is taking the world by storm.

Frontman of the record label "Lowtemp," Gramatik is know for his lush, big beats, breaking through all boundaries and sampling classic hip hop beats and live instrumentation for a funky, downtempo feel. A master of production, Griz infuses hip hop, electro soul and future funk, often incorporating live performance or recording of his Alto Saxophone, creating a ground-breaking sound that absolutely smashes dance floors. Prepare to be blown away by their artful combination of funk, soul and gritty electronic synths as they dominate Red Rocks with bass thumping energy and an undeniable groove. Their live performances emphasize the idea that good music is felt, not heard, and we can't wait to experience it beneath the Colorado night sky.

The 11th annual Global Dance Festival will take place on July 19 through July 21, 2013 at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colo. Gates will be open at 5 p.m. each day. Tickets are available now from www.ticketmaster.com.
