Music | Colorado Music Delegation is Invading SXSW

If you are looking on catching some Colorado bands this year at SXSW you won't have to look very hard. As of this article a huge contingent of Colorado bands and influencers will be taking over the streets of Austin, Texas this year. The biggest party is the Colorado Music Party taking place on Sixth Street. With five days and nights of showcases over 120 bands with close ties to our state will be holding it down. Other notable showcases include the Second Annual Boomtown Music Showcase (co-sponsored by us), The Reverb Showcase, The Holy Underground Showcase, Hip Hop and BBQ hosted by our own DJ Low Key, Cadence & Cause are promoting their new platform and will host a couple showcases as well. Mr. Right: SXSW: Photo Essay

One of the bands we have always followed is the trio of Mr. Right. We had a chance to catch them during the Reverb Showcase down at SXSW and were impressed with the growth these guys are displaying in front of our eyes. They recently wrapped up a tour and we had them in the studio recently to record an "Ultra5280 Session, as well as an exclusive SXSW Acoustic Session, stay tuned for those in the coming week.

Denver Bands invading SXSW 2012

In less than two weeks the music industry will embark to Austin, Texas for one of the most celebrated music festivals in the world South By Southwest. Every year in March hundreds of thousands embark to the "Live Music Capital of The World", to take in a week of live music and industry panels. This year some of our states most talented bands will be making the journey to Texas.

Two particular events will showcase Colorado's finest. On March 16th and 17th Denver's own Illegal Pete's will be holding the Starving Artist Showcase at Peckerheads located on 402 E. 6th Street. Below is the event flyer and schedule. Also on March 17th Denver's own Reverb will be holdng the Reverb Showcase at Dirty Dog Bar located on 505 E. 6th Street. Your Ultra5280 team will be making the trip to Texas, so be sure to follow us for all our daily shennanigans.
