Hosted by DJ and television/radio host Hannah Rad, the Red Bull Records Virtual Festival will include exclusive, at-home performances from pop quartet The Aces, hardcore band Beartooth, rapper/producer Blxst, UK alt-pop trio Flawes, indie melodist Gavin Haley, hip-hop artists Kofi and pineappleCITI, with special guest appearances and a "From The Vault" performance from Albert Hammond Jr's acclaimed 2018 "Analog in Vienna" show.

Red Bull Presents: Detour's 5 Pointers
Red Bull Presents: Detour’s 5 Pointers. Kicking off on November 8th, 2019, Red Bull Presents Detour’s 5 Pointers – is a month-long musical journey from internationally renowned Denver artist Detour, aka Thomas Evans, set in a futuristic and interactive environment. Taking over RedLine Denver in the thriving RiNO neighborhood, Red Bull Presents Detour’s 5 Pointers will serve as an introduction to an interpretation of the future of music through storytelling elements, live performances from the 5 Pointers – a band of Detour’s musical collaborators brought together to interpret and experiment with what music will sound like in the future -- and a collection of memorabilia that will bridge the gap of time in this experimental presentation. Throughout the month, Detour and the 5 Pointers band will host multiple performances and artist talks to further create an experience that allows the audience to engage in conversation. The first artist talk and 5 Pointers performance will take place on opening night, November 8th, 2019. Detour will host a stand-alone artist talk on November 13th, and the 5 Pointers will join him for a performance and artist talk on November 22nd and December 6th, 2019. Based in the year 2119, Detour’s environment transports the audience to a museum opening dedicated to a fictional band formed the turn of the 22nd century. Featuring non-traditional and innovative instruments, envisioned and created by Detour and utilizing mixed media, the 5 Pointers will compose original music as an interpretation and exploration of what music will sound like 100 years from now, providing attendees a fully immersive journey through art, narrative, and sound. Fictional artifacts and memorabilia – including Grammy’s, ticket stubs, jerseys, magazines and more - personify Detour’s futuristic world further illustrating the story of the 5 Pointers and their musical journey. Detour has invited Denver musicians Felix Fast4ward, Venus Cruz, Carl Carrell, and DJ Check One (Dameion Hines) to collaborate with him as the 5 Pointers band. Each musician will perform in character, fully transforming into their 5 Pointers personas. Felix Fast4ward performs as Wex, Venus Cruz as Lola Devine, Carl Carrell as Carl Remington, and DJ Check One takes on King Tempo – and together they are the 5 Pointers. About Detour:
Thomas Evans, who is better known in the community as Detour, has been a solid contributor to Denver’s creative scene for over a decade. Initially, his work was largely inspired by the world of hip-hop and Detour ventured into the world of street art, producing colorful portraits that quickly turned heads and became common backdrops on social media. Over the past two years, he has held gallery and museum residencies in Colorado, France and Argentina. In 2018, he was asked to paint portraits of David Letterman and Jay-Z for Letterman’s Netflix original TV series, My Next Guest Need No Introduction.
Currently, Detour’s artistic endeavors focus on connecting music and fine arts through traditional methods and technology. Accenting his focus, the sights, sounds and issues surrounding urban culture shapes the way he approaches the creation of concepts, use of tools and overall execution of his work. The tools Detour uses to develop his work are not limited to any one medium, and blend sounds and paintings – weaving two things he personally has passion for – to create a new interactive way of enjoying art. His style engages everything from using sensors inside canvases to fabricating wall-sized guitar strings that pair with pre-recorded sounds and much more.

Red Bull Music Presents: United States of Bass. On December 13th, 2018, Red Bull Music Presents a celebration of bass sounds from across the country at Cervantes’ Masterpiece in Denver, CO. Taking over both rooms of the iconic venue (The Ballroom and The Other Side), Red Bull Music is bringing together the pioneers and trailblazers of America’s most influential regional bass music styles from the East Coast, West Coast and Midwest for an unforgettable night in Denver.
The lineup features DJ Craze (Miami), Daddy Kev (Los Angeles), UNIIQU3 (New Jersey), Jubilee (Miami), Dieselboy (New York), Arabian Prince (Los Angeles), DJ Deeon (Chicago), and DJ Taye (Chicago). Additionally, Red Bull Music has curated set takeovers from four of Denver’s most exciting crews, VIBeRATION, Souls in Action, Sub.mission, and Recon DNB, each representing their own distinct genre within bass. From footwork and juke, to dubstep and drum and bass, these crews uniquely celebrate, highlight, and extend the rich culture of Denver’s booming bass scene which has thrived for over a decade, filling club rooms with sounds of the best bass music innovators in the country.
Nicole Cacciavillano, founder of Sub.Mission, explains, “Denver is the bass capital of America…The amazing thing about this city, is that in each genre of bass, we have incredible teams running things properly and doing it for the music. VIBeRATION
In 2013, Valerie Molano created a weekly underground party called VIBeRATION in a grimy, little basement in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Molano and her crew managed to stuff in as many subs and bass heads as possible, creating a VIBeRANT buzz in the underground bass scene. Molano brough the party to Denver and has been vibin’ at The Black Box for the last year and a half.

DJ Craze
DJ Craze plays hip hop, breaks, drum n bass and practices turntablism. He is the only solo DJ in history to claim the World DMC Champion title three times consecutively. Originally from Nicaragua, he now lives in Miami. Initially influenced by the Miami Bass movement when he was younger, Craze has gone on to incorporate elements of hip hop, drum n bass and breaks in his turntable routines. The style of his music carries many of his past musical influences.

Margaret Glaspy, Pearl Charles & The Still Tide To Headline Next Red Bull Sound Select Presents: Denver Showcase
Red Bull Sound Select is excited to announce the next installment of Red Bull Sound Select Presents: Denver, which will take place Friday, October 20 at The Bluebird Theater, 3317 E Colfax Ave. The live music showcase features headliner Margaret Glaspy and rising artists Pearl Charles and The Still Tide.
The show is 18+ and tickets are $5 for those who RSVP online at Red Bull Sound Select and $15 at the door without an RSVP.
This month’s showcase was curated by The Underground Music Showcase and features one headliner and two artists on the rise. Throughout the rest of 2017, the showcase visits different career-launching Denver venues and introduces an exciting lineup of artists to audiences.
Margaret Glaspy is a singer-songwriter based in New York. Having cut her teeth as a touring musician, Glaspy’s solo career began in earnest in 2012 with a sound that’s drawn nice comparisons to stalwarts like Elliott Smith, Liz Phair and Joni Mitchell. Having spent a few years perfecting her craft, her debut album, Emotions and Math which she self-produced, dropped last summer via ATO Records. The California-born musician hit the road hard behind her debut playing stages the world over in North America, Australia, China and Norway and sharing bills with the likes of The Lumineers, Andrew Bird and Car Seat Headrest. This marks Glaspy’s first CO performance in over a year.
Red Bull Sound Select alum Pearl Charles will support. This Los Angeles native culls her sound from a shimmering palette of Americana, southern blues, 70’s country and beyond to create a very comfortable kind of nostalgia. A touring musician since 18, Charles has been member of outfits The Blank Tapes and The Driftwood Singers, having shared the stage with the likes of Father John Misty, The Growlers and The Allah Las before embarking on a solo career in 2015. Her debut, self-titled EP followed in 2016 on Burger Records. Hear it here. With new music and the horizon and a very select set of live dates for the rest of 2017, her Denver performance is one not to miss.
Rounding out this exciting lineup are the Denver-based project The Still Tide. A creation of Anna Morsett and Jacob Miller who originally met while living in New York, the pair traded the big city for a move out west where a first Denver show band found the transplants opening for Angel Olsen at the tiny Hi-Dive. Country-rock swagger with a dusty open road freedom, The Still Tide’s third release, the EP Run Out was released in August via Greater Than Collective. Take a listen here.
The Cool Kids Headline February 17th Red Bull Sound Select Presents: Denver Support via Red Bull Sound Select Artist River Tiber and local act The Reminders
The Cool Kids are definitely one of those acts that inspired a lot of the modern sound being permeated on rap airwaves. In the mid-2000s, members Sir Michael Rocks and Chuck Inglish blazed an innovative retro-rap aesthetic that can now be seen in artists as diverse as Chance the Rapper and Joey BadA$$. This will be the Illinois duo’s first show in the market in 4+ years after reuniting late last year. Not to be outdone, both River Tiber (the Toronto native who has garnered rave reviews from Pitchfork) and Colorado’s own The Reminders (they’ve shared the stage with the likes of Snoop Dogg and KRS-One) are Sound Select acts worthy of your attention on a “I saw them before they broke big” level. Red Bull Flying Bach Conquers All During Denver Stint.

What happens when you mix the classical overtures of Johannes Sebastian Bach's "Well Tempered Cavier," and the dance elements of breakdancing? Well if you were at The Buell Theatre this past weekend you witnessed the touring Red Bull Flying Bach performance that had many turning their heads as fast at the headpins performed by the Flying Steps dance troupe. Members carefully orchestrated dance routines that were accompanied by live performances of some of Bach's most famous musical masterpieces. Head spins, backflips, backspins, popping and locking, and pirouettes all moved in synchronicity with a theatrical element played out with each member dancing out true to life emotions such as love, heartbreak, anger and a hint of comedic laughter.
With a visual element backdrop highlighted by a square dance canvas, it felt as if you were witnessing a live painting . The harrowing haunting chords of Toccata and Fugue in D minor by Bach gave us nothing but chills as the performance diminished showcasing each dance members array of signature moves. A truly breathtaking performance that cannot be described in words, Red Bull Flying Bach delivered with flying colors, Denver would seem to agree. The tour continues through the end of January all through the east coast and midwest.
