From time to time, a musical gem graces us. We’ve been following South of France for a while, eagerly anticipating new music. A 32-song album can be overwhelming, but Jeff Cormack’s latest album offers a cohesive journey. It spans various genres and showcases talented contributors. The passion project evident in Jeff’s work is palpable, creating a genuine auditory experience that rewards us with a diverse range of genres that harmonize beautifully.
Spirit Animal V. Baggage Vol. 1 - is a brilliant 32 song culmination of multi faceted creative director and frontman Jeff Cormack’s ever-evolving song-craft and imagination, and will be available world wide via Staycation Records on June 5th 2026. The album is an expansive ride that cleverly encompasses and combines elements of indie pop, psychedelia, psychedelic rock, dream pop, neo-soul, international pop, indie pop, and urban pop. Jeff and his roster of eclectic global collaborators have adventurously & eloquently pushed the sound of this album by pulling inspiration from varying genres around the world while still delivering their trademark psych-pop textures, reliable hook and infectious groove.

Jeff is an award-winning multi-instrumental writer, producer, designer & creative director, who has organically & independently reached the Global and US Viral Top50 charts multiple times with different projects. His dedication to the craft has propelled him into the top 2% of songwriters, top 2% of artists & top 5% of music producers globally, and recently earned a nod from 6X Grammy Winning Producer of the Year -Danger Mouse. He stays busy developing music under his name, composing for film, and by continually pushing to evolve the sound and collaborative direction of South of France.
