http://www.graveface.com/the-casket-girls.html

Holy hell. These girls have it going on. From their stage presence to their recording rituals, they really are the entire package. Although I'm biased towards brunettes... we may have to agree with the age old saying that blondes really do have more fun. Check out what these Southern belle's had to say about their new album, mountain men, and fashion. Then check out our Instagram and Facebook page @ultra5280 for a chance to win tickets to their upcoming show at The Lost Lake Lounge this Friday, August, 8th.

Do you guys partake in any sibling rivalry while creating and recording music?

Never!  We consider our writing time a sacred time to cherish and would never want to taint it with something as petty as fighting.  Instead we work to support and build off of each other's ideas.  Our writing style is highly collaborative and pulls from the personal and collective unconscious so we have to keep our channels open and pure.

Your music style closely resembles art; from the clothes you wear on stage, to the poetic lyrics, and abstract music videos. Do you guys strive to make that connection or are you just naturally edgy and talented?

Ha! Thanks!  I'd say that it's a little bit of both.  We definitely try and find ways of expression that challenge ourselves and others, but usually just follow our gut instincts.  Some people see art and some see a ridiculous spectacle.  That's fine with us though because what you see is really just a reflection of your own self.  Things just exist, we assign the meanings to them.

What are the top 3 things that you need in order to create music?

1. Dry sparkling Rose

2. Our dream journals

3. Protools and two microphones

Being from the South do you prefer Southern Gentleman or are you in the market for a Colorado mountain man?

We've never actually seen a real live Colorado mountain man.  Do they really exist?

One thing that stood to us is the sheer amount of “sheer” clothing that you wear on stage. Don’t worry, we definitely dig it. How do you decide on wardrobe?

We're really inspired by Bob Fosse and cabaret dance clothes.  So, i guess because of that we are drawn to sheer and fitting designs.  Mostly we like to have fun with our wardrobe though.

“True Love Kills the Fairy Tale” is trancing, effeminate, and enigmatic. What was your inspiration for the album?

Ryan was drinking a lot of absinthe when he wrote and recorded the music and we were really experimenting with letting our subconscious dictate the words to us.  It was almost like going through hypnosis regression therapy.

What has been the hardest thing about being on tour?

Being away from Tybee Island!

Colorado recently legalized marijuana and we noticed you guys like to wear sunglasses... is it a coincidence that your tour happened to land in Denver?

There are no coincidences!

Well, we’re excited to have you in our neighborhood. Anything you want to say to the people of Denver?

We're so excited to play Denver.  Let's party together.
