Global community movement Daybreaker will celebrate its 1,000th gathering worldwide with a special daytime dance party at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Sunday, April 5th, marking a milestone moment for the global sober dance and social wellness community.

The event will begin with yoga at 11am followed by a two-hour daytime dance party, transforming one of the most legendary music venues in the world into an open-air gathering dedicated to music, movement, and human connection.

Daybreaker began in Brooklyn with a simple idea: wake up, gather, dance. What started as a single early-morning dance floor has grown into a global movement spanning 66 cities and more than 750,000 community members, bringing people together through alcohol-free dance experiences rooted in joy, self-expression, and community.

The Red Rocks event marks the 1,000th Daybreaker gathering, a milestone organizers say reflects more than a decade of people choosing connection, creativity, and shared celebration over traditional nightlife.

“I feel nostalgic, grateful, and proud that we’ve stayed together, committed to this sober social wellness movement built of dance, dew on our brows and a big ol’ grin on our faces,” said Radha Agrawal, co-founder of Daybreaker and founder of the Belong Center, a nonprofit focused on addressing the growing loneliness epidemic. “Thank you for waking up and dancing for all these years. This moment at Red Rocks will mark 1,000 gatherings of dancing with reckless abandon.”

“This moment belongs to everyone who has ever woken up early and chosen joy with us. A thousand parties, a thousand dance floors full of love and mischief. If there’s one dance to fly in for, this is it.”

Daybreaker helped pioneer this model more than a decade ago with its early-morning dance gatherings in New York, replacing alcohol with coffee, green juice, and shared experiences built around music, movement, and community. Today, similar formats – from coffee raves to sauna gatherings and daytime DJ events – are appearing in cities around the world, reflecting a broader cultural shift toward more intentional, connection-driven social experiences.

The rise of daytime dance culture has increasingly drawn national media attention. Coverage from outlets including CBS Evening News, CNN, and LAist has highlighted the growing popularity of alcohol-free dance gatherings and the broader movement toward wellness-driven social experiences that prioritize connection and community. The growing visibility reflects a larger cultural shift toward daytime gatherings centered on movement, creativity, and shared joy – a format Daybreaker began developing more than a decade ago.

The Red Rocks celebration represents both a milestone and a moment of gratitude for the global community that has helped build the movement.
