Twin Shadow | Turn Me Up | Video

One of our favorite artist LA-based artist Twin Shadow, aka George Lewis, Jr., has debuted a new video for the track 'Turn Me Up' which was directed by Alex Turvey.

The track premiered yesterday on Pitchfork, while its accompanying video premieres today on Dazed Digital. Watch it here.

The striking black and white video was styled by creative director Milan Zrnic, and features clothing from Diesel and KTZ. 'Turn Me Up' is taken from Lewis's upcoming album 'Eclipse' which will be released by Warner Bros. Records on March 17th.  He will tour North America in support of the album throughout March and April.

"I think it's important to let people take what they need from songs instead of explaining too much about what they mean for me personally," says Lewis. "But my friends keep asking, 'Turn me up' - what's that mean? I keep saying, 'Take more from me. Ask more of me. Give me more back. Stop fighting against the things you want the most.'"

He adds: "I'm surrounded by great people right now, people who are pushing me, like my twin sister Ligia Lewis, my creative director Milan Zrnic, and Alex Turvey, who all worked with me to create the visuals for 'Turn Me Up'."

Earlier this year, Twin Shadow released the single 'To The Top' which he performed on 'Conan' in June. Billboard stated that "Twin Shadow's canyon-sized 'To The Top' has lofty goals and proceeds to soar straight past them," while Stereogum deemed the track a "masterpiece" and "possibly the biggest, grandest thing that Lewis has ever recorded."

The Dominican Republic-born, Florida-bred Lewis adopted the Twin Shadow moniker in 2006. He has released two previous albums on indie labels Terrible and 4AD, 2010's 'Forget' and 2012's 'Confess'  - an internationally acclaimed album that Pitchfork hailed for its "brash lyrics [and] laser-focused songwriting." Uncut called it "an impeccable sequel to an immaculate debut" and NME described it as a "thrill ride."

Live performances opening for Florence & the Machine and The Strokes, appearances at Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Bonnaroo, plus his own headlining shows have earned Lewis a reputation as a charismatic and compelling frontman. He has also performed on 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' and 'Conan'. His track 'Old Love, New Love' featured in 'Grand Theft Auto V' was named one of the best songs of 2013 by RollingStone.

I think it’s important to let people take what they need from songs instead of explaining too much about what they mean for me personally. But my friends keep asking, ‘Turn me up’, what’s that mean? I keep saying, Take more from me. Ask more of me. Give me more back. -Twin Shadow

New tour dates have been added including a stop at SXSW and here in Denver on April 17th.
