After traipsing down South Broadway for 4 days straight and viewing 60+ bands, it is a miracle that we are even alive, let alone posting this. The weekend consisted of watching some of the best artists that Denver has to offer, drinking amazing beer, mingling with fellow music enthusiasts, and soaking in yet another eloquently executed Underground Music Showcase.

Big news coming from The Underground Music Showcase today. A slew of new artist announcements have been confirmed. Blonde Redhead, People Under The Stairs, Miniature Tigers, and Gardens and Villa have been added to name a few. Aside from those national acts another round of local artist have also been named as well.
What is The UMS?
The largest indie music festival in the Rocky Mountain region, featuring more than 400 local, national and international artists. Visit Colorado recently named The UMS one of twelve quintessential Summer Colorado Festivals. A four day celebration of this region’s thriving local music scene, which has produced a number of national success stories in recent years. UMS alums include The Lumineers, DeVotchKa, Isaac Slade of The Fray, Flobots and Nathaniel Rateliff. It’s an opportunity to hear some of the world’s emerging artists in some rather unconventional venues such as retail shops, restaurants and a church. It’s an animated “block party” that has proven to be a yearly highlight of the Denver cultural calendar.
