Motion Trap is infectious, delightful and a pleasure to occupy anybody’s summer time playlist. Their new single is a throwback that makes you want to lace up your skates and make rounds around the ring while strutting your best moves and giving the significant other your cheesy smile.
Denver’s Motion Trap isn’t f**king around anymore. Duo Kyle Williams and Nathan Rogers are honoring a victorious year after winning the popular vote for Best Pop Band in Denver via 303 Magazine, opening a 3,400 person show at The Fillmore and scoring a feature on a Vinyl Me, Please compilation album amongst notable acts like DeVotchKa, The Motet, Tennis and more. Now, they’re tackling 2019 with a single release paired with the party of a lifetime.
Starting today, the world will have a new summertime anthem. “N2U” (listen here) is Motion Trap’s futuristic and fun contribution to the indie synth-pop genre. A celebration of summer love, it’s reminiscent of poolside vacations and beach sunsets galvanized with a newfound fling. It’s more than just a single — “N2U” is a disco interpretation of lust and passion and the irresistibly danceable desire that comes with them.
Motion Trap is commemorating the release at Lost Lake on Saturday, June 21 with support from Retrofette and Graveyard Club. This won’t be an ordinary single release show, though — the band is gearing up for a futuristic night of dance music that you won’t soon forget. Expect holograms, live projection and spacey surprises as Motion Trap sets the bar high for 2019’s single release parties.
“We have a few surprises in store. Along with having some of the sickest synth/pop bands on the bill, and our good friends Retrofette, we are going to unveil a new live set, that hopefully will blow some minds.” - Kyle Williams, Motion Trap
