Top 10 "Must See" Acts for Snowball 2014

As we embark on this years Snowball Music Festival, we wanted to take time and narrow down who we think will destroy this years festival. With more than 65+ acts on this years bill, it was hard to nail down some of our "must see". The festival will be taking place this weekend at Sports Authority Field at Mile High and tickets are still available. Be sure to check out the Snowball Music Festival website for all the latest information.

Top Ten Must See Acts (in no particular order)

Warpaint

We have always been huge fans of Warpaint,  we had a chance to see them recently at SXSW and were left pretty impressed. Denver prepare to  be rocked by the chill sounds from these beautiful ladies. Jenny Lee Lindberg lets grab a drink this weekend. (I have a small crush on her)

Earl Sweatshirt

A member of the Los Angles hip hop collective Odd Future. Earl Sweatshirt brings his unique style of rap to the Denver masses, he recently played a well received set at Cervantes, in which he had Tyler the Creator show up ad destroy the place. One of the few hip hop acts on the bill you won't want to miss his set.

MiMOSA

Colorado fan favorite MiMOSA brings the unique electronic hip hop infused sound to his loyal fan base in here in the Mile High. Blending hip hop with a hint of dub step MiMOSA has garnered the attention of many in the scene with killer sets at some of the major festivals such as Bonnaroo and Coachella to name a few.

Inner Oceans

Inner Oceans are making 2014 pretty memorable, aside from a note worthy  SXSW performance recently, the band is continuing to impress with its haunting lyrics, infectious synths and a powerful sound setting them apart from anything else Denver has heard. This is your chance to catch this up and coming act. The single "Ready Your Ghost" will have you hitting repeat as the song will take you on a magical journey.

STRFKR

We have always been huge fans of the Portland based outfit STRFKR since we can remember. With dance friendly crowd engaging hits the quartet always manages to put on a raucous dance inducing set. A loyal Denver fan base should be in for a treat as they always manage to win over the Mile High City crowd.

Jagwar Ma

A band that hit our radar this year Jagwar Ma hail from down under and bring their unique style of psychedelic/dance style to Colorado this weekend. They also played this past SXSW on the same bill as Twin Shadow (another Snowball performer) and received quite the accolades. Build from the same blueprint as Empire of The Sun, Jagwar Ma will surely set fire to the festival dance crowd.

Rose Quartz

Hailing from Denver, Colorado the electro/pop outfit formerly known as Flash/Lights will be performing under their new moniker of Rose Quartz. The duo consists of Ethan Converse and Alex Anderson, two of the hardest working musicians in the business. (they also manage to run an exciting-up and coming record label at the same time). Coming off a set of SXSW appearances Rose Quartz will be taking to this years stage with a rather early Friday set time, be sure to catch them.

Yeasayer

The first time we discovered at Yeasayer was back at SXSW in 2008. It was the same bill as Bon Iver and Vampire Weekend in a barely full venue. It was our first dose of the Brooklyn based psychedelic outfit. They have continued to grace us with their own unique trademark sound for a couple years now. We have always considered them one of the most underrated bands out today. Be sure to catch them Saturday night on the Snowball Stage.

GRIZ

Hailing from the Motor City of Detroit, Michigan, Griz has continued to climb the charts and become one of the heavy hitters on the EDM circuit. Even though he may not fit the standard definition of most of your EDM artist, Griz does it his way and it's what sets him apart from the rest. His take on sampling an incorporating the use of live horns in his sets make it a true pleasure hearing experience from beginning to end! He will be closing things out on the main stage on Sunday night.

Chali 2na

ounding member of the legendary hip hop group Jurassic 5. Chali2na has earned his place as one of the most prolific emcees to grace the mic. He has collaborated with some of the most well known artist out there and we are lucky for him to be gracing us at Snowball this year.
