Pries To Headline The Bluebird | Ticket Giveaway

Rising MC/singer/songwriter, Pries, returns to Denver on Thursday, July 18th, to celebrate the successful release of his sophomore album, Cold Rose. After debuting in the top 20 on iTunes hip-hop charts, the multi-talented artist will perform at Denver’s historical Bluebird Theater with The Letterman Squad, EV. Vinyls and Kid Vegas.

Cold Rose, the highly-anticipated follow-up to Pries’ debut full-length album, The Lonely Kid Show (2012), showcases the 23-year-old’s dynamic lyricism, polished production, and innovative vision for creating a brand of rap/hip-hop all his own. Exploring ideas of wanderlust, fame, modern romance, spirituality and family on Cold Rose, Pries continues to distinguish himself from mainstream rap and hip-hop artists with thought-provoking themes set against bold beats and catchy melodies.

“This album is intended for everyone,” Pries says of Cold Rose. “I want people to be moved by the lyrics emotionally, and be physically moved by the music.”

Pries pays tribute to his hometown of Denver, CO on Cold Rose, as well. “Colfax,” a gritty standout track is accompanied by a video featuring footage of Denver’s notorious Colfax Avenue. The track and video honor the Mile High City, Pries says.

“We had no budget to film “Colfax” and for a while, we didn’t think the video would even get done,” he says. “All we had was us, the city, and a camera. It’s really amazing how the final product came out.”

“It can be overwhelming to be an artist from Denver,” he says. “When I’m on the road, I try to tell people about my home town as much as I can. I want to shed a light on what a fantastic city it is, and how much it inspires me.”
