The Avett Brothers | Red Rocks Amphitheatre | July 11th

The Avett Brothers wrapped up their three day residency at Red Rocks on Sunday night. Colorado's adopted sons played to the tune of three sold out shows at the majestic venue. With their customary penchant for incredible live shows, we had a chance to take in the show on Friday night. The nights festivities began with original founding member of The Grateful Dead Bob Weir opening to the tune of dancing hippies in their customary tie dye attire that filled the first few rows of the venue. Later on he joined the brothers Avett for a few Dead songs which only added to the majestic night. Turns out they ended playing sixty songs during the three day set, with only a few being played the same night. As they continue to grow their legendary status, one thing is for sure, they can always consider Colorado their home away from home. Check out Matt Smith's photos from night one here.
