Justin Timberlake | Pepsi Center | January 22, 2014

While the forecast for a cold front brought snow flurries to Denver on Wednesday night, Justin Timberlake and his 20/20 Experience Tour brought the heat to a sold-out Pepsi Center crowd. He managed to perform an array of hits that almost lasted three hours. Justin Timberlake is not only a singer, but he has truly classified himself as a bonified performer, whether he is acting, singing, or performing hilarious skits on SNL, he knows how to impress.

The night started with Timberlake reaching into his latest single "Pusher Lover Girl". Flanked by his touring band The Tenneesse Kids, which by the way could probably sell out a show in their own right, he managed to perform hit after hit from his catalog of albums. The stage resembled a honeycomb backdrop that projected various images all night complementing the singer and band in unison. Even the songs that may not have achieved hit status managed to electrify the crowd with dancers and band members dancing the night away.

The back third of the floor patrons, who I presume paid a hefty ticket price were treated to an all exclusive VIP experience ($1,250 to be exact). With a makeshift club setup and full bar, it only seemed proper for Timberlake and his production to pull off such an atmosphere. At one point in the performance Timberlake and his crew moved from a floating stage across the concert floor giving the full 20/20 Experience to those in the back of the venue. Truly something I have never seen before, I'm sure those in the back got some cool up close photos instead of the customary blurry pics we see on Instagram. Timberlake kept the banter throughout the evening talking about everything from weed being legal to Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos (turns out Timberlake played some ping-pong with the QB the day before).

"It smells legal in here," Timberlake jokingly acknowledged the crowd in between songs. At one point even saying it was the loudest and craziest crowd the tour had seen so far. The night was full of dance party hits we have all come to enjoy such as "My Love", "Señorita", and "Cry Me A River".

With 30 plus songs at his arsenal he managed to include a few notable covers from Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, and a rather raucous cover of "Poison", by Bell Biv Devoe (see video below). The night was filled with dance hits all night, but he saved his best for last going through a superb performance of "Suit and Tie", a dance crazed fueled singalong of "Sexxyback", and emotionally charged "Mirrors" to end the night. The response at the end of the show seemed consistent that many believed including myself one of the best concert experiences they had ever been part of. Well done JT, well done.
