Lightshade and The Collective 360are thrilled to announce the first annual SMOKEDOWN, featuring hip-hop legends, Method Man & Redman, at Ogden Theater on Saturday, September 21, 2013. Tickets are $27.50 in advance or $25 in-store for Lightshade members. Denver-based outfit, The Foodchain will open. Surprise guests TBA.

Owner of Lightshade, John Fritzel, says SMOKEDOWN comes as a celebration of the growing cannabis culture in the Mile High City, and the longstanding relationship of music and marijuana.

“We are thrilled to bring Method Man & Red Man to Denver, as they have been longstanding advocates of the MMJ community,” Fritzel says. “But, SMOKEDOWN will be more than just a hip- hop concert. Lightshade and The Collective 360 have teamed up to create an interactive and educational event experience. We will offer educational materials about the new standards and regulations for recreational marijuana, poised to take effect Jan. 1st, 2014. Guests will have access to onstage demonstrations, vendor booths, raffles, giveaways and, of course, a live hip-hop show featuring Method Man & Redman.”

Aside from being one of Denver’s most-talked-about concerts this fall, SMOKEDOWN will also serve as a unifying and educational event for Denver, as multiple cannabis companies and vendors will have booths on site, and more than $3,000 of merchandise will be given away to attendees. SMOKEDOWN will also be an opportunity for attendees to experience Lightshade’s culture and standard of excellence, with interactive activities and educational material for concert-goers to understand why “the difference is night and day” at Lightshade.

"The Difference is Night and Day" speaks not only to the Lightshade experience, where you'll find the best product, service and shopping environment, but also alludes to the changing cycles of night and day,” Fritzel explains. “The name Lightshade plays on the dualistic properties that surround us like yin and yang. It also reflects the light and dark cycles that control the cannabis plants. The balance of 12 hours of light and 12 hours of dark is what makes the cannabis plants flower in our industry. This is why we are celebrating the first SMOKEDOWN on the Fall Equinox.”
