BRECKENRIDGE BREWERY, TOPO DESIGNS JOIN FORCES, DEBUT OUTDOORS URBAN PACK
Breckenridge Brewery of Colorado and Topo Designs recently joined forces to launch a limited edition backpack that is rugged enough to endure a mountain forest while hip enough to hold its own in an urban concrete jungle. The versatile co-branded pack exemplifies Denver’s urban outdoors lifestyle. It will be available in select bars and liquor stores throughout the U.S. and in limited quantity from Breckenridge Brewery’s webstore.
The stylish backpack includes a detachable and collapsible insulated 6-pack cooler, a Breckenridge Brewery embossed water bottle that fits perfectly in the backpack’s side pocket and a custom-designed bottle opener made by Machine Era Co. from Richmond, Virginia. The backpack was fashioned in Topo Designs standard high-quality craftsmanship, featuring 1000d CORDURA® fabric for the exterior and coated pack cloth for an entirely lined, waterproof inner compartment. The natural leather lash tabs, heavy duty straps and hardware make this pack as durable as it is fashionable. The attached bottle opener, machined from cold formed steel and finished with a gun barrel black patina, serves as a tribute to Breckenridge Brewery’s brewmaster and director of brewery operations J. Todd Usry, who grew up in Richmond. Each backpack is handmade in Topo Design’s LEED Certified shop in Colorado.
“We’ve been crafting our beer in Colorado for 23 years, and we’ve been here on Kalamath Street for 14 years,” said Usry. “We didn’t have to look far for this collaboration – Topo Designs is headquartered right here in the neighborhood. Our close proximity goes beyond our physical location though. Our companies have much in common. We are both dedicated to making top-quality products – and doing it right here in Colorado.”
Breckenridge Brewery and Topo Designs brainstormed the collaboration in response to fans – both beer drinking and backpack donning – requesting a way to carry their favorite 6-pack, be it on bike to a neighborhood barbecue or on a hike in the mountains. The dynamic result is the 6-pack toting backpack, which promotes both neighbor businesses that are dedicated to crafting quality products.
“This pack is perfect for the typical Coloradoan – someone who is passionate about craft beer, enjoys the mountainous outdoors and also takes full advantage of all our vibrant city has to offer, be it skateboarding along the river, playing a round of golf or listening to live music in one of Denver’s great pubs,” continued Usry.
The collaboration backpack will make its debut at Fancy Tiger Clothing’s monthly “Civilized Living” event Friday, May 3, from 7 to 10 p.m., at 55 Broadway in Denver. Breckenridge Brewery will be tapping up beers from its Small Batch series, including 471 Imperial IPA and 72 Imperial Chocolate Cream Stout. Following the Fancy Tiger event, attendees can continue to Larimer Lounge, 2721 Larimer Street, for an album release party with local band School Knights, where Breckenridge Brewery beer will be served. Tickets to the after party will be given away during the Civilized Living event.
The limited edition backpacks will be for sale online at www.breckenridgebrewery.com/store beginning May 1, while supplies last. For more information visit www.breckenridgebrewery.com.
