Interested in doing what we love? Help us out!!

Ultra5280 is looking to bring on some additional help! We are looking for two photographers with some writing knowledge (can you distinguish between there from they're?) and two film gurus that would like to bulk up a portfolio by helping with our filmed recording sessions. Both the photographer and film positions will be as needed, which these days is becoming more frequent.

For both positions, these individuals need to display professionalism; punctuality and reliability is a must. You must contribute creatively and be open to constructive feedback. It is important to have projects finished in a timely manner so to stay relevant. These positions are not paid, but rather a way for you to grow professionally and expand your knowledge and portfolio.

Photographer:

You will never be asked to pay for a ticket by Ultra5280. All tasks will come with at least one media pass, occasionally a plus one. If you attend a show that we did not receive credentials for and would still like to shoot, we will always post the photos. It is required of every concert or event covered that a write-up is included, length will vary on the size of the event. For instance, one concert with two bands should be a paragraph. A festival, however, might be one page in length. Length will be determined by the Editor. You must have a love for music and photography with a creative eye. You must meet 24-48 hour publishing deadlines so that we can stay current and relevant. Example: If a show is Saturday night, you have until Sunday night/Monday morning (10 am) to have the materials up on the website (unpublished) so that the Editor may have the content published by 3 pm on Monday. This is the most crucial part of this position because we must stay current and relevant (there is a trend, you see!) Above all, you must be open to constructive feedback so to grow professionally. We are a family with open communication where ideas are respected and embraced and ask that you truly have the same values.

Film:

Every month we will have two to three recording sessions with bands of different caliber (some months slower than others). We are looking for help with filming but more importantly, editing. We edit using Final Cut Pro and for consistency, we ask that you know this software and have used it in the past. Realistically, we would like to have our videos done within two weeks time. It is important that we hold up our end of the bargain and again, stay current and relevant. We will embrace your creativity and input and ask that you have a voice; no idea is a dumb idea. Since we will be working with different bands and artists, we ask that you are respectful and professional, even if it is not your style. Our sessions typically occur on Sundays and take about two hours (give or take). We understand that, realistically, you can't be present for every shoot but we ask that you are there at least every other (the reason we are looking for two people).

So, with all that being said, if you are interested in working with some amazing, talented, creative, and respectful people, please send all inquiries to amanda@ultra5280.com with your position in the subject line along with a portfolio or samples. If you have never written before, make up something bogus for the last show you were at. Again, we aren't looking for a writer, just someone competent (there, their, and they're).
