Deftones made a stop in Denver on Friday night to a well received crowd at The Fillmore Auditorium. With a loyal following and even actual family in the audience Chino Moreno and company rocked the house for almost two hours giving us hits spanning the bands 24 year existence. With old school favorites such as “Change (In the House of Fly’s)," “My Own Summer," “Be Quiet and Drive," and “Engine No. 9," mixed in with a few newer hits, they played a flawless set catering to all.

With the always animated Chino Moreno at the helm he maintains true frontman form, by making himself accessible to all the fans in the front row of each and every show. One thing about Moreno is that he is able to belt out screams, yet the listener can actually decipher the words to the song. It has always been a trademark of his.

The stage set up consisted of an LED back panel, the production was minimal yet made a huge impact giving us awesome visuals of silhouettes flanked by minimal fog (you could actually see the band) and colored lasers. They managed to save the best for last as the band brought out Greg Puciato of The Dillinger Escape Plan to join them on the finale “7 Words”.

Deftones have managed to maintain a steady following all these years and have always kept the same blueprint for success, and that is make good music and create a close relationship with your fan base.
