RED BULL PARTY LINE COMES TO U.S. FOR FIRST TIME AT COPPER MOUNTAIN RESORT
Coming to the U.S. for the first time, Red Bull Party Line will bring one of the world’s most unique courses to the Colorado slopes for skiers and snowboarders to attempt – if they dare! On Saturday, March 14th at Copper Mountain Resort, contestants take on a head-to-head race across a one-of-a-kind downhill pump track. The fastest time will take home the top prize and the glory. Open to all advanced adult skiers and snowboarders, registration will open on Friday, February 6th and close on Saturday, February 28th at 11:59 PM MT. Spots are limited and a valid Copper Season Pass, Copper Day Pass or Ikon Pass is required to participate in the event.
The course is designed by world champion French snowboarder and Red Bull athlete Pierre Vaultier, who’s viral Floating Shapes pump track was the inspiration behind the event. Vaultier lent his creativity to the contest, providing daredevilish twists and obstacles for the introductory event.
“My project Floating Shapes aimed to express myself through a challenging course on both water and ice, with the goal of redefining the boundaries of aesthetics in movement,” said Vaultier. “I’m excited to infuse that thought-process in the design of the Red Bull Party Line which will allow riders to experience the thrill and adrenaline of riding a one-of-one course behind the backdrop of the beautiful Rocky Mountains.”
Broken up into a skiers’ division and snowboarders’ division, the race will comprise of a preliminary time trial session, and the top eight times in each category will advance to a bracket-style competition. The course will be constructed by Woodward Copper’s world-renowned terrain parks team. It will be located at the top of the American Eagle chairlift and approximately 300 feet in length. At the end of the contest, one skier and one snowboarder will take home the top monetary prize, and bragging rights of winning the first Red Bull Party Line.
The contest is also open for spectators to view. Access to the event is available with a Copper pass, Ikon pass, lift ticket or foot passenger lift ticket. An après afterparty will follow in Copper Mountain’s Center Village for all contestants. Stick around to catch some free live music in Center Village from Sqwerve from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. as part of the Copper Live music series.
